Bought this for my son who unfortunately is in prison for making wrong choices in his life. I wanted and have been searching for a book that would get through to him. While he has been in prison his wife was killed in a car accident they had not even been married a year.He called me and said hey mom got that book with the girl with tattoos Still reading it but its awesome going to look into Church in here I got a lump in my throat & my eyes teared up Oh mom by the way I love you & thanks so much for that book! Pray for me mom Just want to thank this young lady for sharing her story
This young woman has been tried inside and outside the church but has learned to remain true no matter where the criticism comes.This book reminds me of Tebow's book Shaken which I read not long ago. Both have found trials in their life that took them in directions that wouldn't have chosen on their own but with God's guidance have found treasures they didn't know about.An enjoyable read, expect plenty of religion written in the language of encouragement.
I'm incredibly picky when it comes to my reading material. I can honestly say that not many religious books make the cut but I read Al's book in a matter of 2 days. I've been a member all my life dealing with my own problems and was incredibly touched with the words she had to say. I strongly recommend this book to anyone willing to apply what she has shared. If you're an active member this book is refreshing and will encourage you to do better and help others along your way. If you're struggling with anything, even attending church less than you should- this provides hope and reassures that you are not alone and that this gospel is worth so much. If you're not a member but just curious- read it and hopefully it will spark some interest in you to further seek out information about our church. Great Job Al and keep inspiring!
This book was amazing! I would recommend it to anyone! I could not put it down and boy did I underline a few of her sections. I was changed as I read through her journey, trials and how she continued to look to God and do his will even when she didn't know why or sometimes how it was going to happen. She is truly an inspiration and when I grow up I want to be like her! (wink wink) I wish that I had felt the way she did at her young age...life would have been so much easier for me! I cannot say enough about her and what an amazing person she is! Thank you for writing such a great book!
WOW, I have read many good books in my day but this one tops them all. I wish I could meet this beautiful young author, hug her, and with tears in my eyes, tell her that I believe her inspirational messages may have just saved my marriage! Her love for the Savior and our Heavenly Father AND Mother is undeniably alive and beautiful!Bless you for blessing me today! HE does hear hear my prayers and HE does love ME!
I love Al' s honest description of her experiences, from meeting missionaries, to gaining a testimony, trials of losing family and friends, dealing with haters... I love that she shares how the scriptures, prayers, and her testimony of the Savior strengthened her. I love her positive and determined outlook! I think everyone should read this book, no matter where they are in their journey. I feel like I'm an unjudgemental person, but her experiences inspire me to want to be even more careful, more uplifting, to try to make a difference by caring as she does. I hope I am a better person, more dedicated to my savior because of her example. Thank you, Al. Keep fighting on! You are loved and appreciated more than you could possibly imagine!
I've been wanting to listen to this book for a LONG time. I finally buckled down and bought he audio version and, thankfully, I waited until the "More Than" version came out! I am listening to this book at the perfect time in my life. I can imagine listening to it at an earlier time and not getting as much out of it as I am now. Al's testimony and experiences are just what the doctor prescribed for me and for anyone struggling. Al's attitude towards life and how she throws herself completely into what she loves, The Gospel, is inspiring.THANK YOU Al for being you and sharing your story.
I loved reading about all the trails, heartache, and strength that Al has and had. Such an inspiration she is. I bought this book for my daughter because she was so upset that she was too young to go to Al's fireside, I decided to read it also. All I can say is that buying it couldn't have come at a better time in our lives right now, with the struggles that the family has gone through this week. Try to be better than you were yesterday. Heavenly Father loves all of us. I can't wait for my daughter to finish this book, to see that you need to be yourself, that is how Heavenly Father made us.
